Algiers, Algeria – March 4, 2024 – The 15th edition of the Algeria-France Business Meetings kicks off today, spanning three days in Paris, Lyon, and Marseille under the theme “Algeria: New Partnerships.” This event is expected to mark a significant milestone in the realization of bilateral economic cooperation commitments, as outlined in the roadmap of the Algerian-French Business Council established earlier this year.

Launched jointly by the Council for Economic Renewal in Algeria (Crea) and the Movement of French Enterprises (Medef), this cooperation council “falls within the framework of the renewed partnership between France and Algeria and aims to serve as a key driver of bilateral economic relations, both at the level of economic operators and authorities,” stated the French business organization during the establishment of this new cooperation structure in Paris last month.

Furthermore, Crea and Medef had already outlined a roadmap for the current year, focusing on establishing six sectoral working groups comprising representatives from companies in both countries to explore bilateral cooperation opportunities in industries such as energy, mining, agriculture, agri-food, infrastructure, logistics, finance, and banking. In this context, Medef announced that the next step to advance the work of the bilateral business council would be the participation of companies from both countries in the 15th edition of the Algeria-France Business Meetings, starting today in Paris, Lyon, and Marseille.

Organized by Business France, the French agency responsible for supporting French companies internationally, this annual economic event takes on particular significance this year given the expressed commitment of the leaders of the two largest business organizations in both countries, Crea and Medef, to explore new partnership opportunities, particularly focusing on concrete opportunities for joint ventures and coproduction.

In addition to the leaders and members of Crea and Medef, numerous business leaders from both countries, as well as institutional representatives, including the Algerian Ambassador to France, are expected to participate in this 15th edition of the Algeria-France Business Meetings, themed “New Partnerships,” as indicated by Business France on its website. The agenda includes several topical themes of interest to economic operators from both countries, covering areas such as the Algerian economic trajectory amidst global crises, the leadership of healthcare industry players in Algeria’s development, decarbonization and energy transition in industry, the rise of new technologies and digitization, and the drivers of attractiveness and coproduction by 2030.

This edition will also feature significant B2B exchanges and meetings between economic actors from both countries, highlighting the numerous opportunities offered by the Algerian market, particularly in industries such as manufacturing, technology, energy, environment, healthcare, agriculture, and livestock.
