Achieving Full Digital Integration in Customs and Beyond
Highlighting key accomplishments, Minister Faid celebrated the full digitization of Algeria’s customs services and the substantial progress achieved within the tax sector. These milestones not only simplify administrative processes but also enhance accessibility and efficiency for citizens and businesses. “These reforms directly impact citizens by facilitating their interactions with public services and creating an enabling environment for economic operators,” he remarked.
Faid also outlined Algeria’s current economic positioning as the third-largest economy in Africa, asserting that, within the next five to six years, Algeria has the potential to ascend to the continent’s top spot. He attributed this prospective achievement to the nation’s inherent capacities and the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders.

Touching on the recently signed 2025 Finance Law, Faid noted its comprehensive measures aimed at bolstering Algeria’s economy. The law prioritizes safeguarding national economic interests, incentivizing investment, enhancing purchasing power, and expanding electronic payment systems. He emphasized that these initiatives form part of a broader agenda to modernize Algeria’s public administrations, particularly those under the Ministry of Finance.

During the inauguration of a state-of-the-art real estate complex by the National Insurance Company (SAA), Minister Faid stressed the importance of cultivating a robust culture of insurance among Algerians. The complex features a regional directorate, a commercial agency, a digital claims processing platform, and a training center.
Faid lauded the SAA’s achievements, particularly the launch of the digital claims platform, which he described as a transformative step in modernizing the sector. He urged the development of innovative insurance products and solutions to address the evolving needs of the market. Additionally, he underscored the critical role of modern technologies, especially digital tools, in enhancing service delivery and raising public awareness about the economic significance of insurance.
