ALGIERS- The ad-hoc high-level working group dedicated to the preparations of the 7th Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) will convene this Thursday at the International Conference Center “Abdelatif Rahal” in Algiers to draft the “Algiers Declaration.” The draft declaration will then be submitted on Friday for review during an extraordinary ministerial meeting, with the final approval slated for Saturday by the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Forum.
During the extraordinary ministerial meeting of the GECF, energy ministers will deliberate on the final version of the Algiers Declaration and its associated resolutions, seeking endorsement from the heads of state and government participating in the summit presided over by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
This summit marks a significant milestone for the GECF as member countries come together to address pressing issues in the global gas market and reaffirm their commitment to cooperation and coordination in the energy sector. The Algiers Declaration is expected to outline key principles, strategies, and objectives aimed at promoting stability, sustainability, and mutual benefit within the gas industry.
With Algeria playing host to this important gathering, all eyes are on the outcomes of the summit and the pivotal role the country will play in shaping the future trajectory of the gas market.
