Algiers, Algeria | June 12th, 2024 — The 8th session of the Algerian-Omani Joint Commission concluded in Algiers with a series of significant agreements signed by Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, and his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al Busaidi.
Among the agreements inked during the session was a memorandum of understanding focusing on social affairs. Additionally, agreements were reached in scientific and legal cooperation, specifically between the Algerian Higher School of Magistracy (ESM) and the Omani Higher Judicial Institute (HJI).
Further enhancing bilateral ties, an executive program for the years 2024 and 2025 in the domains of youth and sports was formalized. Additionally, cooperation in standardization and conformity certification was solidified through an executive program between the Algerian Ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production’s Algerian Institute of Standardization (IANOR) and the Omani Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion’s General Directorate of Specifications and Measurements (DGSM). Another executive program was agreed upon in the field of archiving for the same period.
The session culminated with the signing of a joint protocol summarizing the outcomes and agreements reached during the session. These agreements reflect the strong commitment of Algeria and Oman to deepen their cooperation across various sectors, ensuring mutual benefits and fostering sustainable development.
