ALGIERS– After an initial international consultation yielded no satisfactory results, Air Algérie, the national airline, has taken to the skies once again with a fresh endeavor. This time, the focus is on the operational leasing (Dry lease) of a fleet comprising up to ten aircraft, comprising six large carriers and four medium carriers.
In a recent press release, Air Algérie clarified that the international consultation is specifically directed at “Leasing Companies, Airlines, and Manufacturers having the rights, approvals, certificates, or authorizations governing the Aircraft Operational Leasing activity.” The scope of this endeavor includes the lease of six A330-200/300 models (GE engines) and/or A330-900 for wide-body aircraft requirements.
For medium carriers, the airline is seeking to acquire four B737-800 and/or B737-900ER and/or B737-9 Max models. As an encouraging aspect of this initiative, Air Algérie has emphasized that interested candidates have the option to bid for one or more aircraft and for each type of fleet, fostering flexibility and participation in this significant opportunity.
To access the detailed specifications, interested parties can request the documents via email at [email protected]. The deadline for submitting proposals is set at September 15, 2023. For an efficient and streamlined process, the Technical Offer must be directed to [email protected], while the commercial Offer should be sent to [email protected].
This recent development comes in the wake of a public notice released on July 10, wherein the EPE/SPA Air Algérie conveyed that the previous consultation had been declared fruitless due to non-conformity of the tenders with the requirements of the specifications. Undeterred, Air Algérie is determined to press forward and secure a reliable fleet that meets its operational needs.
As the national flag carrier, Air Algérie is committed to ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency for its passengers. With the imminent acquisition of these new aircraft through operational leasing, the airline is poised to bolster its capacity and expand its reach across international routes.
