Algeria’s Equestrian Renaissance: State-of-the-Art Facility Sets New Standards in Africa

ALGIERS- In a groundbreaking development for equestrian sports in Africa, an Algerian investor has achieved a remarkable feat by completing the construction of a cutting-edge horse racing track in Tipasa. This state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind on the continent, showcasing Algeria’s commitment to advancing in the realm of equestrian excellence.

Equestrian Enthusiasts Express Delight

Participants in the national equestrian championship were effusive in their praise for the new facility. Tilmouka Wiam, a rider in the championship, described the organization as fantastic, emphasizing the excellent conditions of the grounds. Arabi Braham from the Elegance Equestrian Club echoed these sentiments, stating that the organization was exceptional, and the grounds ranked among the best.

Mengeli El Bahi of the People’s Club Knights in Annaba asserted that the Elegance track stands as one of the finest in Africa, capable of hosting five-star competitions. He expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the organizers.

Elegance Farm: A New Frontier in Horse Breeding

Feradj Nour Eddine, owner of the Elegance Stud Farm in Tipaza, shared insights into the farm’s focus on breeding horses. He highlighted the diverse breeds, including purebred Arabians and show jumping horses, being nurtured on the farm. The breeding process, initiated seven years ago, has yielded highly skilled horses.

The farm recently organized a national championship with participants from across the country, all of whom expressed satisfaction with the available facilities, enabling five-star competitions. Nour Eddine also outlined the farm’s plans for specialized horse breeding by 2024, emphasizing the inclusion of Barbary, pure Arabian, and French show jumping horses.

International Recognition and Future Prospects

Acknowledging the significance of this local initiative, Cherif Ben Karba, an Algerian investor with a considerable portfolio of horses exported abroad, commended Mr. Nour El-Din for organizing the competition and praised the high level of local investment. He urged others to participate and contribute to the growth of such endeavors.

Ben Karba emphasized the importance of quality equestrian arenas, especially for show jumping horses, underscoring that excellent facilities enhance horse performance. He expressed hope for international competitions to be hosted, envisioning a bright future for the Algerian equestrian scene.

Mohamed Ideran, the Secretary-General of the Algerian Equestrian Federation, highlighted that this arena hosted its first national championship, crediting the club’s president for its international-level facilities, ranking it among the leading clubs in Algeria.
