Saida Neghza, President of Business Africa, has called for a platform that will disseminate economic information of interest to the African continent.
Neghza pleaded, at the opening of the annual seminar for employers, which takes place in the Kenyan city of Mombasa, on March 3 and 4, member organizations to feed this platform and easily consult it.
“We are living in a pivotal period in our existence, a time when the world is tending to form a strong regional community to face the security, economic and societal challenges of the day.” stressed the businesswoman.
Neghza referred to Africa’s possession of a tremendous opportunity, “With the establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area”, while expressing his regret that trade between African countries is not significant and far from reflect the existing possibilities and aspects of integration.
“As the main economic players in the private sector, we must campaign, each towards the national public authorities and institutions of their country, but also by increasing exchanges between us, particularly in terms of economic information, training, visits on the ground, and exchanges of expertise and know-how,” added the speaker.
On another level, Neghza affirmed that “the African continental free trade area and the importance of its market and the considerable resources at its disposal allow our continent to negotiate better and on better terms with Europe, China and the United States.
The President of Business Africa mentioned that this organization and the Continental Free Trade Area “require us to live up to the aspirations of our peoples and particularly young people who dream of a better future.”
“So, let’s work to realize this dream in Africa and not through random illegal emigration to Europe, by creating the necessary conditions to allow our scholars to settle, flourish in Africa and for the benefit of Africa,” concluded Neghza.
