The 2nd edition of the National Conference of Startups “Algeria Disrupt 2022” has seen the announcement of new incentive measures for the benefit of startups to reinforce the achievements of the sector during the last two years.
Organized by the services of the Ministry Delegate in charge of the knowledge economy and start-ups at the Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Center in Algiers, this conference has been marked by the participation of the Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, members of the Government and senior state officials.
This event, in which start-ups and incubators took part, was an opportunity to meet professionals in the sector and those carrying out innovative projects.
“Algeria is currently experiencing multidimensional changes. In parallel with the political reforms initiated by the President of the Republic since his investiture at the head of the country and the operation to renew the institutions of the Algerian State, economic reforms occupy an important and central place in the presidential program”, underlined the Prime Minister in his opening speech.
And to add “the measures taken for the benefit of the start-up sector, which are a first in Algeria, aimed to iron out the obstacles hindering innovative projects in our country and to attract knowledge allowing the establishment of a knowledge-based economy in our country”.
For his part, the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of the knowledge economy and start-ups, Yacine El Mahdi Walid, welcomed the development made in the environment of start-ups which has experienced a significant improvement during recent years, both at the level of legal and regulatory frameworks and at the level of support and financing mechanisms put in place by the State”.
On this occasion, the Minister Delegate presented the annual activity report of his sector as well as the commitments obtained in terms of support for start-ups in Algeria.
Walid also announced new measures for the benefit of start-ups and incubators, such as a mechanism relating to the assumption of costs inherent in patents of invention and intellectual property which registered within the framework of the instructions given by the President of the Republic during the Council of Ministers.
He also announced a new program for the benefit of innovative project leaders to benefit from financial support and incubators spread across the national territory.
