ALGIERS- In a solemn gesture of remembrance, a minute of silence will be observed on the football fields hosting the matches of the 11th round of the professional Mobilis championship this weekend. This tribute is dedicated to the victims of the tragic accident that befell the delegation of MC El Bayadh, resulting in the loss of goalkeeper Bouziani Zakaria and coach Meftah Khaled. The League of Professional Football (LFP) conveyed this announcement in a statement, expressing heartfelt condolences and wishing peace to the departed souls.
As a poignant reminder, the bus carrying the football team of Mouloudia d’El Bayadh (Ligue 1 Mobilis), en route to face JS Kabylie in Tizi-Ouzou, overturned last Wednesday in the wilaya of Tiaret. This unfortunate incident occurred on the wilayale road N3, between Sougueur and Si Abdelghani.
Tragically, coach Khaled Meftah (39 years old) and goalkeeper Zakaria Bouziani (27 years old) did not survive the accident. The football community, united in grief, pays its respects with this moment of silence to honor their memory.
