President Ghali receives a delegation from the European Parliament

The President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), the Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali has received, on Thursday, a delegation from the European Parliament which is visiting the Sahrawi refugee camps, indicates the Sahrawi Press Agency (SPS ).

The audience held at the seat of the Presidency, has taken place in the presence of the President of the Saharawi National Council (CNS), Hama Salama, the Saharawi Prime Minister, Bouchraya Hamoudi Bayoune and the representative of the Polisario Front in Europe and the EU , Abi Bouchraya Bashir.

After having thanked the European delegation for its visit which intervenes in a particular situation of the fight of the Saharawi people, the Saharawi president praised “the important role of the parliamentary groups in the defense of the legitimate rights of the Saharawi people and their natural resources”.

Recalling the latest developments of the Sahrawi question, in particular after Morocco’s violation of the ceasefire on November 13, 2020 and the return to war, Ghali spoke of the legal battle waged by the Polisario in the European courts against the illegal exploitation of the natural resources of Western Sahara.

The European Parliament delegation arrived last Tuesday for an official three-day visit to the Sahrawi refugee camps where it was warmly welcomed in the city of Laayoune.

The delegation had visited a number of regional structures at the level of this wilaya before inquiring about the functioning of several institutions of the Sahrawi Republic, including the Sahrawi Red Crescent (CRS), the Sahrawi Committee for Human Rights and the National Museum of resistance.
