Clarification from the Ministry of Religious Affairs regarding an offensive video circulating on social networks

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Wakfs said in a statement on Saturday that the individual claiming to be an imam who has made offensive accusations in a video that has recently circulated on social media “does not belong to the sector”, warning against campaigns aimed at “sowing discord among the country’s children”.

“In recent hours, a video has circulated on social networks in which an individual claiming to be an imam has made intrusive accusations. To enlighten public opinion, we assure you that this individual, named (B.F) does not belong to the sector. is neither an imam nor a volunteer. The remarks by which he described the daughters of Muslims are condemned and the mosques and imams of the Republic disavow this slander”, specified the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

In its press release, the ministry insisted on “the need to verify the information before relaying it”, warning against “campaigns aim at sowing discord between the country’s children and tarnishing the morals of the Algerian Muslim people via social networks”.
