President Tebboune inaugurates 53rd edition of Algiers International Fair

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, inaugurated Monday at the exhibition center (Pins maritimes) the 53rd edition of the International Fair of Algiers (FIA) in which more than 700 companies representing 20 countries participate.

President Tebboune was welcomed at the entrance to the exhibition center by the Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, and the Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamel Rezig.

Members of the government and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Algiers also attended the opening ceremony of this FIA which will continue until June 17 under the slogan “For a strategic partnership”.

Visiting various stands, Tebboune received explanations on this event which brings together more than 700 companies, including 530 Algerian (147 public and 383 private) and 187 foreign.

The national companies participating in this edition represent several sectors, including the electronic, electrical and household appliance industries (42 companies), the agri-food industries (68 companies), the services (66 companies), the chemical and petrochemical industries (87 companies ), mechanical industries (68 companies), manufacturing industries (35 companies), crafts (100 companies), construction (45 companies), as well as 19 subsidiaries of foreign companies operating in Algeria.

The Department of National Defense (DND) is participating for the first time in this fair with 19 companies representing production units of an economic nature in the sectors of the mechanical industry, textiles and shipbuilding.

Guest of honor at this 53rd FIA, the United States is taking part with 35 exhibitors representing the energy, construction, agriculture, agri-food, hydraulics, environment, the aviation industry and education.

This event, which this year coincides with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the independence of Algeria, records the participation of the Ministry of Mujahideen and Rights Holders whose pavilion is dedicated to the event.

A pavilion has also been reserved for the wilaya of Tamanrasset, as part of the decision taken this year to invite one of the country’s wilayas to the fair to enable it to showcase its cultural heritage and its tourist potential. and economic.

On the sidelines of the event, business meetings (B2B), as well as conferences, will be organized by the National Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (ALGEX) and the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI). It will discuss partnership and investment in Algeria.

ALGEX is organizing at the “Saoura” pavilion the 6th edition of the “Export Algeria” fair, dedicated to exporting companies or companies with export capacities.

For its part, the management of the Algerian Fairs and Exports Company (SAFEX) has reserved a space for sale at the “El-Bahdja” pavilion and another space dedicated to craft activities.
