Minister of Transport, Abdellah Moundji, instructed, on Saturday in Algiers, the new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the national airline Air Algérie to “immediately” contact aircraft manufacturers for the acquisition of 15 new aircraft, in application of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune relating to the reinforcement of the air fleet.
New CEO of Air Algérie, Yacine Benslimane has been instructed to proceed “immediately” with the application of the decision of the President of the Republic relating to the acquisition of 15 new planes to strengthen the company’s fleet, said declared Moundji at the end of the installation ceremony of the new boss of the national airline.
The Minister also insisted on the importance of reviewing the internal organization of the national company with the aim of reducing certain unnecessary expenses and improving the services provided to customers.
Several priorities are set in the new roadmap of the company, including “the treatment of certain internal problems, mainly related to the financial aspect, through the revision of the organization chart of the company”, he underlined.
Announcing the creation of subsidiaries of Air Algerie to contribute to the realization of additional income, he highlighted the importance of recovering the market shares of the national company in the field of air freight.
“The improvement of services” and the dematerialization of ticket sales in order to avoid long queues at the level of the company’s commercial agencies, are also among the priorities set for the company.
Minister also insisted on the modernization of working methods and the upgrading of equipment installed on board the aircraft.
