Prime Minister receives UNWTO Secretary General

Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane received, Friday at the International Conference Center “CIC” (Algiers), the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili who is on a working visit to Algeria, indicates a press release from the Prime Minister’s office.

The talks focused on “bilateral cooperation for the purpose of developing and promoting tourism in Algeria, in accordance with the objectives set out in the Government’s Action Plan in execution of the program of the President of the Republic”, notes the press release.

Pololikashvili reviewed ‘the various results of cooperation with Algeria and its prospects for the next period and handed over to the Prime Minister an important series of orientation documents mainly related to the promotion strategy of the destination’ Algeria'”.

These guidance documents have been developed in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts with a view to “achieving a qualitative leap in the tourism sector through the marketing of the destination ‘Algeria and by draining tourist investments”, adds the same source.

The meeting allowed the two parties to discuss “the promising prospects of bilateral cooperation and to define a common roadmap that the two parties will work to achieve, during the next period, in several areas relating to the tourism sector. “.

The meeting took place in the presence of the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Yacine Hammadi, it was recalled.
