President of the Republic, Abdemadjid Tebboune, officially kicked off the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games Oran 2022 during a ceremony organized on Saturday evening at the stadium of Miloud Hadefi Olympic complex in Oran.
“On behalf of all of you, I welcome all our guests and delegations, headed by the guest of honor the Amir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Ben Hamad Al-Thani. I officially declares open the 19th edition of the Mediterranean Games of Oran 2022.
Long live Algeria”, declared President Tebboune on this occasion.
Other distinguished guests took part in this ceremony, such as the Captains Regent of San Marino, Oscar Mina and Paolo Rondelli, Turkish Vice-President, Fuat Oktay, Italian Minister for Interior, Luciana Lamorgese, and the Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), Nasser Kamel.
The kick-off of these games was preceded by an opening ceremony marked by a rich artistic program designed for the occasion and containing, among other things, synchronic music and a pyrotechnic show.
The artistic presentation revolved around 20 paintings with the participation of 800 people, including artists, dancers, image and lighting technicians.
Organized from June 25 to July 6 in Oran, the 19th edition of the JM recorded the participation of 3,390 athletes from 26 countries.
