ALGIERS- The Ministry of Energy and Mines announced on Sunday, through a press release, Algeria’s decision to extend its voluntary additional oil production cut by 51 thousand barrels per day for the second quarter of 2024.
According to the statement, this decision was made in coordination with certain participating countries of the OPEC+ alliance, resulting in Algeria’s production being limited to 908 barrels per day until the end of June 2024.
The ministry clarified that these additional cut volumes would be gradually reinstated based on market conditions.
This voluntary reduction supplements Algeria’s previously announced cut of 48 thousand barrels per day in April 2023, which extends until the end of December 2024.
Furthermore, the ministry emphasized that this additional voluntary reduction aligns with the precautionary efforts undertaken by OPEC+ countries to support the stability and balance of oil markets.
