A draft law relating to the written and electronic press, aimed at meeting the expectations of media professionals, was examined on Wednesday at the government meeting, said a press release from the Prime Minister’s office.
The Minister of Communication presented during this meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, a draft bill relating to the written press and the electronic press and this, in application of the “directives of the President of the Republic given during the Council of Ministers of April 24, 2022 and relating to the establishment of a legal framework governing the written press and the electronic press”, specifies the press release.
The draft law aims to respond, according to the same source, “to the expectations of media professionals and to take into account the proposals and recommendations resulting from the consultations undertaken with the corporations”.
It also aims to “simplify the administrative procedures for the creation of periodical publications or the electronic press”, adds the press release, which indicates that “this draft text will be the subject of an examination during a future Council of Ministers”.
