ALGIERS- The National Meteorological Office has issued a special weather bulletin (BMS) on Friday, forecasting rainfall, occasionally in the form of thunderstorms, accompanied locally by hail, on Friday and Saturday in several provinces in the East and South of the country.
Under “Orange” alert, this BMS concerns the provinces of El Oued, Touggourt, El M’ghair, and the North of Ouargla, with rainfall amounts estimated between 40 and 60 mm and locally exceeding 80 mm, from Friday at 6:00 am to Saturday at 6:00 pm at least.
These rains will also affect the provinces of Ouled Djellal and Ghardaïa, as well as the South of Djelfa, the South of Laghouat, and the North of El Golea, where rainfall amounts are estimated between 20 and 40 mm and locally exceeding 50 mm during the validity of this BMS, from Friday at 6:00 pm to Saturday at 6:00 pm at least.
The provinces of Oum El Bouaghi, Tébessa, Khenchela, and Biskra, as well as the East of Batna, are, for their part, affected by these showers, with rainfall amounts estimated between 20 and 40 mm during the day on Friday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
It is worth noting that the rainfall BMS issued last Wednesday remains in effect.
