ALGIERS- In a statement released on Friday, the Ministry of National Defense (MDN) announced a successful operation conducted by a unit of the People’s National Army (ANP) in Tin Zaouatine, located in the southern region of the country, on Thursday, May 2nd.
The operation, which followed intelligence exploitation, resulted in the neutralization of a terrorist identified as D. Omar, as well as the arrest of two individuals providing support to terrorist groups in the Tin Zaouatine area (operational sector of Bordj Badji Mokhtar in the 6th military region).
During the operation, the military recovered a semi-automatic pistol and three magazines, along with other materials.
This operation highlights the continuous dedication of the Algerian security forces in combating terrorism and maintaining peace and stability in the region. The ANP remains vigilant and proactive in countering any threats to national security, particularly in areas vulnerable to terrorist activities.
The Ministry of National Defense reiterated the ANP’s commitment to sustain its efforts in the fight against terrorism, ensuring the safety and security of the Algerian people.
