The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Algeria, Abdulaziz Ali Al-Naama, considered that relations between his country and Algeria were a “model of inter-Arab integration”, stressing that “pivotal stages” had been crossed in 2022, in bilateral relations in favor of a “promising strategic partnership”.
“The year 2022 has been marked by several achievements, important decisions and high-level visits which have enabled bilateral relations between the two countries to take pivotal steps,” said the Qatari ambassador in an interview with APS.
Achievements which “translate the sincere and serious will of the brothers in the two countries to create a greater rapprochement, in accordance with the orientations of the leaders of the two brotherly countries”, he added, qualifying the relations between Qatar and the Algeria of “inter-Arab integration model”.
In this regard, he underlined having worked, since his appointment as ambassador to Algeria, to “raise the level of bilateral relations to the height of the potential and capacities of the two countries and brotherly peoples, in accordance with the common will of the two enlightened leaderships. to move towards a strategic partnership”.
To do this, “a dynamic of action has been set in motion between the two countries through a rapprochement and an exchange of high-level official visits”, he said, affirming that the visit of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in Qatar last February, was a “very important step in promoting relations between the two countries into a promising strategic partnership, thanks to the agreements and memorandums of understanding conferring on the relations between Qatar and Algeria a new dimension”.
“The significant, rapid and large-scale development that relations between Qatar and Algeria have recently experienced has been noted by many observers”, noted the Qatari diplomat, stressing the “privileged” nature of bilateral relations which are based , he said, on mutual trust, which is one of the constants of the foreign policy of the two countries”.
The mutual visits of the leaders of the two brotherly countries “have made it possible to establish bilateral relations on a solid basis through agreements, in particular that on political consultation and coordination between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, which has enabled the officials of the two countries to consult and exchange views on issues of common interest,” Al-Naama said.
