Algiers, Algeria | June 16th, 2024 — On Saturday evening, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune extended his heartfelt greetings to Algerians both at home and abroad, as well as to Hajj pilgrims, on the occasion of Aid El-Adha. The President’s message emphasized the importance of this sacred period and the significance of the Day of Arafat and Aid El-Adha in the Islamic tradition.
“In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, may Allah’s blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him),” President Tebboune began his address. “Dear compatriots, as we have experienced today the spiritual moments of the memorable Day of Arafat, we will celebrate tomorrow Aid Al-Adha, to perpetuate the tradition of Ibrahim Al-Khalil, and to make it an occasion to spread forgiveness.”
The President expressed his best wishes to all Algerians inside the country and to the Algerian community abroad. He also extended his warmest regards to the Hajj pilgrims in the Holy Places, wishing them the best conditions in performing their rites during this sacred period.
In his message, President Tebboune also took a moment to address the broader Arab-Muslim nation, particularly expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people. “I wish to congratulate the entire Arab-Muslim nation, particularly our brothers in occupied and grieving Palestine, praying to Almighty Allah to lift the injustice they suffer, grant a swift recovery to the injured, and surround the martyrs of Palestine with His Holy Mercy.”
The President concluded his address with a patriotic note, “Happy Eid celebrations, long live Algeria, dignified, sovereign, and proud. Glory to our martyrs.”
President Tebboune’s message highlights the spiritual and communal significance of Aid El-Adha, emphasizing unity, forgiveness, and solidarity among Algerians and the broader Muslim community during this important religious festival.
