Algiers, Algeria | June 21st, 2024 — The High Youth Council has unveiled the “Haya Chabab” (Come on Youth) initiative to motivate young people to register on electoral lists ahead of the upcoming presidential election on September 7th. This announcement was made through a communiqué released by the Council on Thursday.
Empowering Youth Participation
The “Haya Chabab” initiative is part of a broader campaign designed to inspire youth to register and engage actively in the various stages of building a New Algeria. The communiqué highlights that this initiative serves as the principal platform for the Council’s efforts to raise awareness among young people about the importance of the exceptional revision of electoral lists initiated by the Independent National Election Authority (ANIE) in preparation for the presidential election.
To achieve its goals, the initiative includes organizing proximity activities and fieldwork specifically aimed at encouraging youth registration and emphasizing the significance of the electoral process. A comprehensive proximity activity program is also planned for Council members across different wilayas (provinces) of the country.
The High Youth Council considers this initiative a vital opportunity to enhance communication between youth and official institutions. It aligns with the criteria for synergy and cooperation necessary to achieve national goals. The “Haya Chabab” initiative underscores the council’s commitment to ensuring that the youth of Algeria are informed, engaged, and active participants in the democratic process, paving the way for a vibrant and inclusive future.
