Algiers, Algeria | September 2nd, 2024 — In a powerful demonstration of the Algerian Red Crescent’s dedication to community welfare and regional advancement, Dr. Ibtissem Hamlaoui, the organization’s President, arrived in Tissemsilt on Sunday, September 1, 2024. Her visit, emblematic of the broader national development strategy, was marked by a formal reception at the province’s headquarters, where she was welcomed by Governor Bouzaid Fethi, alongside high-ranking provincial officials. The ceremonial gathering in the provincial hall included the President of the Provincial People’s Assembly, members of the security committee, the Secretary General of the province, the local ombudsman, and various senior administrative leaders, underscoring the significance of her presence in the region.

The following day, Monday, September 2, 2024, Dr. Hamlaoui and Governor Bouzaid Fethi inaugurated a far-reaching social support initiative, aligned with President Tebboune’s vision for national progress. The day’s activities commenced with the official launch of a solidarity caravan from the front of the provincial headquarters, symbolizing a key component of the initiative. This caravan was dedicated to distributing 4,000 school bags to underprivileged children across the province, ensuring that these students are well-prepared for the upcoming academic year.

Dr. Hamlaoui’s visit also prioritized healthcare enhancement in rural areas, reflecting the Red Crescent’s commitment to improving access to essential services in underserved communities. Accompanied by Governor Bouzaid Fethi, she visited Douar Ain Gharqour in the Khémisti municipality, where they oversaw the delivery of critical medical equipment to the local health clinic. This significant contribution is expected to substantially boost the clinic’s capacity to provide vital medical services, addressing long-standing healthcare challenges in the area.

The visit continued with the inauguration of a vital infrastructure project in Douar Ain Raghl, a small village within the Sidi Boutouchent municipality. Dr. Hamlaoui and Governor Fethi launched the extension of the natural gas network, a key element of the government’s broader initiative to enhance living conditions in rural communities. This project is anticipated to significantly improve the quality of life for residents by reducing their dependency on traditional and less efficient energy sources, thereby promoting a more sustainable and comfortable living environment.

Concluding her visit, Dr. Hamlaoui and Governor Fethi made another significant healthcare contribution by delivering additional medical equipment to the “Chahid S’bar El-Hadj” clinic in Douar Ain Bazzaz, also located within the Sidi Boutouchent municipality. This initiative further reinforces the ongoing efforts to elevate healthcare standards in Tissemsilt, ensuring that even the most remote communities have access to essential medical care. Dr. Hamlaoui’s visit thus stands as a testament to the Algerian Red Crescent’s unwavering commitment to regional development, healthcare improvement, and the overall betterment of rural life in Algeria.
