Algerian Red Crescent Leads Efforts in Cancer Prevention, Community Support Initiatives in Adrar

Algiers, Algeria | October 15th, 2024 — Dr. Hamlaoui Ibtissam, President of the Algerian Red Crescent, officially inaugurated a national campaign dedicated to cancer awareness and prevention in Adrar Province. This initiative, executed in partnership with Algerian National Television (ENTV) and under the auspices of Governor Larbi Bahloul, aims to cultivate a community-focused approach to cancer education and support.

Accompanied by representatives from ENTV and distinguished journalists, Dr. Hamlaoui toured the advanced cancer treatment center in Adrar, where she assessed cutting-edge equipment designed to provide exceptional care for cancer patients. This visit highlighted the urgent need for innovative strategies in combating cancer and emphasized the importance of accessible medical resources for those affected.

At the launch of the awareness caravan, which saw active participation from the local Red Crescent committee and various civil society organizations, Dr. Hamlaoui stressed the shared responsibility of society in tackling the challenges associated with cancer.

The initiative has garnered widespread praise for its comprehensive approach to cancer care, addressing not only medical treatment but also the mental and emotional support required by patients and their families.
