Thousands of Citizens Flock to Sablettes for Military Parade Commemorating Algeria’s 70th Revolution Anniversary

Algiers, Algeria | November 01st, 2024 — Thousands of Algerians gathered in the early hours at the Sablettes Promenade in Algiers to witness a grand military parade by the People’s National Army (ANP), marking the 70th anniversary of the onset of Algeria’s historic War of Liberation. Citizens, draped in national colors and chanting patriotic songs, filled the esplanades and crowded the adjacent highways near Djamaâ El-Djazaïr, creating a vibrant atmosphere of national pride and unity.

Authorities implemented a detailed and meticulous organization plan to ensure safety and comfort for attendees. Security and military personnel, along with wilaya officials and civil society members, were present in large numbers to assist and direct the crowds. This robust coordination highlighted the importance of the event, emphasizing Algeria’s commitment to honoring its revolutionary legacy.

In anticipation of the parade, the Algiers Public Transport Authority (ETUSA) introduced a special service offering free transportation for citizens wishing to attend the celebration. From 6:00 AM, buses operated on all routes leading to the parade site from various administrative districts within Algiers, ensuring smooth access and an inclusive opportunity for the public to participate in this historic occasion.

The Sablettes military parade has not only reinforced Algeria’s spirit of independence but also served as a powerful reminder of the enduring legacy of the Liberation War and the unity of the Algerian people.
