China Lauds Its Participation in the Algiers International Book Fair: Strengthening Cultural Bridges with Algeria and the Arab World

China’s ongoing participation in SILA is not only symbolic but strategic. It aligns with broader regional initiatives, such as the recent establishment of the “China-Gulf Arab States Library for Cultural Exchange and Mutual Learning in Arabic and Chinese.” This ambitious project, backed by China’s Ministry of Education and executed in collaboration with academic institutions and publishing houses, aims to produce 50 bilingual books to enrich cultural understanding. The College of Arabic Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University is playing a key role in ensuring the highest standards of translation and editorial quality, reflecting China’s commitment to authenticity and mutual respect in its cultural outreach.

The scope of this partnership extends beyond literature. By fostering bilingual education and collaborative publishing, China envisions a long-term cultural synergy with Algeria and the Arab world.
