Algiers, Algeria | January 03rd, 2024 — A recent report from the Zionist Channel 12 has revealed that a staggering 98% of Moroccans oppose normalization with the Zionist Entity, highlighting escalating tensions and widespread public dissent against both Zionist policies and the Moroccan authorities’ stance. Despite diplomatic agreements, the Moroccan public’s overwhelming rejection has led to mass demonstrations, with authorities struggling to curb the unrest.
The report noted that Moroccan hostility toward Zionist visitors has surged dramatically since the Al-Aqsa Flood operation. According to the survey, over 97% of Moroccans expressed support for Palestinian resistance efforts, further fueling public opposition to normalization efforts brokered under the Abraham Accords.
The Channel 12 findings detailed how Morocco, once considered among the Zionist Entity’s closest allies in the region following the U.S.-mediated normalization agreement, has now become a leading hub of anti-Zionist demonstrations. Moroccan citizens have been vocal in their condemnation of Zionist actions in Gaza and Lebanon, with protests against normalization intensifying across the country. The report described widespread hostility faced by Zionist tourists, who were reportedly subjected to “hostile and aggressive” treatment from locals, further straining diplomatic ties.
In a striking development, the report highlighted that even the Jewish community residing in Morocco has become a target of public resentment. Channel 12 quoted Zionist sources claiming that anti-Zionist sentiment has resulted in Moroccan Jews facing social backlash. Allegedly, Zionist tourists have experienced incidents of verbal abuse, physical harassment, and demands for bribes to enter the country, reflecting a broader rejection of normalization policies.
The Hebrew-language report emphasized the Moroccan government’s failure to curb anti-Zionist protests, despite attempts to reduce public dissent. It cited official Zionist sources acknowledging Morocco’s limited success in controlling mass demonstrations, as Zionist tourists continue to report hostile encounters linked to growing public outrage over the ongoing Zionist military aggression in Gaza.
Channel 12 also noted that Morocco has witnessed over 5,000 anti-Zionist demonstrations since the escalation of violence in Gaza. Protesters have called for a complete severance of diplomatic ties with the Zionist Entity and the imposition of comprehensive sanctions against the occupying state. The report pointed out a significant rise in boycott campaigns targeting Zionist products, with Moroccan businesses facing threats of public shaming should they continue selling Zionist goods.
Social media platforms and Moroccan news channels have played a critical role in amplifying anti-Zionist sentiments, with widespread calls for solidarity with Palestine dominating public discourse. According to Channel 12, the overwhelming majority of Moroccans have demanded the cancellation of all agreements with the Zionist Entity, citing the occupation state’s atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon as reasons for this intensified backlash.
The Channel 12 report concluded by highlighting that Morocco is now among the five most active countries in anti-Zionist demonstrations, alongside Yemen, Iran, Turkey, and the United States.
