Algiers, Algeria | January 24th, 2025 — In a significant step towards advancing Algeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-Enterprises has unveiled an open national call for proposals aimed at financing incubation programs. This initiative seeks to support innovative project holders in establishing startups across the country’s wilayas, driving economic transformation and job creation.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry announced the launch of the “KICK START” program, designed to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in Algeria. The program aims to accelerate the conversion of innovative ideas into operational startups, strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and enhance national economic growth by fostering a larger number of startups capable of generating employment and added value. Additionally, the initiative will establish robust financial mechanisms to optimize the performance of business incubators.
According to the Ministry, participation in the program requires candidates to possess the official “Business Incubator” label. Interested participants can submit bids for one or multiple lots across various wilayas, although only one lot will be awarded to the bidder with the highest evaluation score. The Ministry emphasized that a substantial number of lots and wilayas are detailed in the program’s terms of reference.
The official terms of reference for the “KICK START” program can be obtained from the headquarters of Algeria Venture, the national entity responsible for promoting and managing startup support structures. Algeria Venture is located at Dounia Parc in the Dely Ibrahim commune of Algiers. The Ministry has set February 10 as the deadline for submitting proposals and encouraged interested parties to visit Algeria Venture’s office or contact them via official channels for additional information.
