ALGIERS- The Algerian national football team has gained six spots, ranks 34th in the latest FIFA ranking published on Thursday by the international body on its official website.
This jump of six spots (40th position in December) is explained by the two victories of the Greens during the two matches played, last March, against Niger (2-1 / go and 0-1 / return ), as part of the qualifications for the African Cup of Nations CAN-2023 (postponed to 2024) in Côte d’Ivoire.
On the continental level, the Algerian selection ranks fourth and gains three spots compared to the last FIFA ranking.
At the top of the world rankings, Argentina, world champion 2022 in Qatar, dethroned Brazil, which now occupies 3rd place ahead of Belgium (4th). France, vice-world champion 2022 took 2nd place in the world.
