ALGIERS- Under the careful supervision of the governor, a collaborative effort between the Wilaya of Algiers, the Water and Purification Company of Algeria (SEAAL), and the Algerian Red Crescent has resulted in the successful distribution of 35,000 water bottles in the capital. This initiative aims to combat the risk of mild dehydration and alleviate the effects of scorching temperatures, particularly for individuals who are required to be outdoors.

The water distribution process was organized meticulously, with the SEAAL production plant in Boudouaou supplying the water bags that were distributed to citizens. A refrigerated truck was utilized to transport the water to 9 strategically selected points across the capital. These distribution points included El Kettani Square, Martyrs Square, Central Post Square, 1st May Square, El Harrach Municipal Square, Sablette Park, Ben Aknoun Bus Station, and the Passenger Transport Station in Kharouba.

The operation spanned three consecutive days and focused not only on providing water bottles but also on distributing 13,000 water bags and 700 hats, specifically targeting the elderly and children to mitigate the risk of sunstroke. By doing so, the collaborative effort aimed to ensure the well-being of vulnerable members of society during the scorching summer temperatures.

In addition to the distribution in public areas, the Algerian Red Crescent extended its support to the Harrach penal institution by providing 1,300 water bottles. This gesture demonstrates the commitment of all stakeholders involved in reaching as many people as possible, including those in confinement.

This initiative showcases the dedication and compassion of Red Crescent volunteers and SEAAL workers, who worked tirelessly to execute the water distribution process efficiently. Their collective efforts have not only helped reduce the risk of dehydration among citizens, but have also underscored the importance of community cooperation during challenging times.

The governor expressed his gratitude to all parties involved and emphasized the significance of such initiatives in promoting solidarity and social cohesion within the community. He also commended the Wilaya of Algiers, SEAAL, and the Algerian Red Crescent for their commitment to serving the citizens and ensuring their well-being, particularly during extreme weather conditions.
