The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed in a telephone call with the President of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) “his absolute support” for the national football team after its disputed match against Equatorial Guinea, Sunday evening in Douala , on behalf of the 2nd day of group E of the African Cup of Nations football (AFCON 2021) underway in Cameroon.
The president of the FAF, Amara Charaf-Eddine declared on Algerian television to have received a telephone call from the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune in which he affirmed “his absolute support and his encouragement to the national coach and to all the players of the National team”.
The Algerian football team lost on the score of a goal to nil against its counterpart from Equatorial Guinea for the account of the 2nd day of group E.
The Greens will meet Ivory Coast on Thursday for the 3rd and last day of the group stage. They are called upon to achieve a victory to be able to qualify for the round of 16 of the 33rd edition of AFCON 2021 (January 9-February 6, 2022).
