ALGIERS- The Algerian national football team, known as the Greens, entered their third day of training in Togo on Wednesday, intensifying their preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
The team, currently in Lomé, conducted their fourth training session at the Kégué Stadium. Before the training, there was a mixed-zone session with several media representatives, including interviews with players such as Amoura, Belaid, Chaibi, and LaroucI, as reported by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF).
All players, including Rayan Ait Nouri, who missed the previous day’s session due to illness, were present. Mustapha Zeghba (Damac FC, Saudi Arabia) was recalled by the coaching staff after M’bolhi’s injury, although the latter has resumed training, and precautions are being taken.
The training session focused on technical and tactical aspects, including warm-up exercises, technical drills, and various spatial drills.
On Thursday, the team, led by captain Aïssa Mandi, will follow a similar schedule with a training session at 5:30 PM local time. This will be the last session before the Greens’ first friendly match against the Togo national team on Friday (8:00 PM local time, 9:00 PM Algerian time).
For the friendly match, the Algerian team will wear an all-white kit, while the Togolese team will don all yellow. The match will be officiated by a Beninese trio, with Mr. Raphiou LIGALI as the main referee, assisted by Lucien Hontonou (1st assistant) and Augustin Kougbemede (2nd assistant), while the fourth official is Togolese referee Kouassi Attiogbe.
