ALGIERS- Algeria’s commendable efforts to support development in Africa have been hailed by Mr. Adesina, the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB). He expressed his appreciation for Algeria’s commitment to assisting very low-income African countries and its significant contribution of $10 million to the reconstitution of the African Development Fund. This contribution has made Algeria one of the largest African contributors to the fund.
The President of the AfDB also expressed his delight with the level of collaboration between Algeria and the bank, which has been ongoing since the creation of the most important financial institution for development in Africa in 1964. He acknowledged Algeria’s importance as a shareholder who has been present since the bank’s inception.
Furthermore, Mr. Adesina highlighted Algeria’ support for Africa’s regional integration, particularly in the area of infrastructure. He also commended Algeria’s progress in the pharmaceutical sector, which has the potential to benefit the entire continent.
In conclusion, Algeria’s unwavering commitment to supporting development in Africa is a testament to its dedication to the continent’s growth and prosperity. The AfDB looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Algeria in achieving these shared goals.
