ALGIERS– The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zambia, Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, commended Algeria’s pioneering experience in the agricultural field during her visit to Blida on Monday.
Ms. Butete Kashumba Mutti emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between African countries to establish self-sufficiency. She expressed her admiration for the level reached by the Algerian agricultural sector thanks to the use of modern equipment and technologies.
While Zambia has made significant strides in the agricultural sector, it has not yet reached Algeria’s level. Ms. Butete Kashumba Mutti hopes to take advantage of Algeria’s expertise in the field to benefit her country.
“Zambia attaches crucial importance to this sector, which is considered the mainstay of the economy,” she noted.
The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zambia underlined the need to exploit all the natural resources that abound on the African continent to establish self-sufficiency.
She considered the wilaya of Blida to be the best example of the consecration of this approach. Once back in her country, she plans to inform companies and organizations about the progress made by various industrial establishments in Algeria and work to benefit from their expertise in various areas.
Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperative relations among African countries to promote the continent and give it the recognition it deserves. She also highlighted the existence of promising opportunities to promote bilateral relations between Zambia and Algeria, which are developing more and more every day.
As part of her visit, Mutti expressed interest in the activities of various industrial establishments specializing in agribusiness, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture. She visited a unit in the Zaouia region that specializes in the production of fruit tree seedlings and the Boufarik insulin pen production unit.
Mutti’s visit was at the invitation of the People’s National Assembly (APN), and her focus on promoting cooperation and exploring economic opportunities demonstrates Zambia’s commitment to strengthening ties with Algeria and other African nations.
