Agrodiv Launches ‘Yakada’ Vigilance Platform to Monitor Production and Stock of Essential Food Products

Algiers, Algeria | February 13th, 2025 — In line with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s directives to accelerate the digitalization of ministerial sectors, the Algerian government has taken a significant step towards enhancing food security and market regulation. On Thursday, February 13, 2025, Minister of Industry Sifi Ghrieb and High Commissioner for Digitalization Mariam Benmouloud presided over a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Industry to unveil a cutting-edge ‘Yakada’ vigilance platform dedicated to monitoring the production and stock levels of essential food products manufactured by the state-owned agri-food conglomerate, Agrodiv.

This state-of-the-art digital platform will enable real-time tracking of widely consumed food products at every stage of their supply chain, from raw material procurement and production to distribution and final delivery to consumers. By providing a comprehensive and geographically mapped oversight of all Agrodiv’s subsidiaries and production units, the platform is set to revolutionize the management of national food supplies. Crucially, it will empower authorities with the capability to anticipate potential shortages, swiftly detect any disruptions in supply chains, and take proactive measures to safeguard market equilibrium.

Beyond its role as a monitoring system, the platform will serve as an advanced dashboard, ensuring precise and instantaneous data-sharing between Agrodiv, the Ministry of Industry, and other relevant governmental bodies. This integration of digital oversight into Algeria’s food supply management underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for greater transparency, efficiency, and consumer protection.

With this initiative, Algeria is making a decisive move toward reinforcing its economic resilience, enhancing strategic food stockpiling, and securing the nation’s essential food supply against market fluctuations and unforeseen crises.
