Air Algérie/ Acquisition of 15 aircraft: Contract provisionally awarded to Airbus, Boeing

ALGIERS – The national airline Air Algérie published, this Thursday, a notice of provisional award of the contract relating to the international consultation launched in September 2022 for the acquisition of 15 new planes.

According to the document, Air Algérie provisionally awarded the contract to aircraft manufacturers Airbus (European) and Boeing (American). Airbus will supply the national airline with 7 wide-bodied aircraft and Boeing with 8 medium-bodied aircraft.

For medium carriers (Module 170-210 seats), eight (08) type B 737-9 MAX aircraft are provisionally allocated to Boeing.

For large carriers (Module 280-320 seats), five (05) A 350-900 type aircraft are allocated to Airbus.

In the large aircraft category (350-450 seat modules), two (02) type A 350-1000 aircraft are provisionally allocated to Airbus.
