Algiers, Algeria | December 16th, 2024 — Air Algérie, the national airline of Algeria, announced on Monday the cancellation of several flights between Algeria and France due to a planned strike by air traffic controllers in France, scheduled for Tuesday. This industrial action has disrupted air travel, particularly impacting passengers flying to and from French cities.
The affected flights include:
- Algiers-Lyon (AH 1036)
- Lyon-Algiers (AH 1037)
- Lyon-Oran (AH 1081)
- Oran-Lyon (AH 1080)
- Algiers-Montpellier (AH 1070)
- Montpellier-Algiers (AH 1071)
- Oran-Montpellier (AH 1072)
- Montpellier-Oran (AH 1073)
In its statement, Air Algérie assured passengers that necessary measures would be taken to assist those affected by the flight cancellations. The airline has emphasized its commitment to providing support and alternative arrangements to minimize the inconvenience caused.
Passengers are encouraged to contact Air Algérie’s customer service at the number 3302 or visit one of the airline’s commercial agencies for further information, rebooking, or assistance with any changes to their travel plans.
This disruption is part of a broader wave of industrial actions that have periodically affected air travel in Europe, highlighting the ongoing challenges in the aviation sector.
