ALGIERS- In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry of Transport revealed an enriched flight program for the national airline, Air Algérie, originating from the international airport in Algiers. The expanded routes include destinations in Spain, namely Madrid and Barcelona, along with the resumption of air connections to Lebanon and Syria. A weekly flight from Algiers to Beirut, Damascus, and back will commence on December 21, with an additional flight scheduled from January 9, 2024.
The ministry also confirmed the resumption of flights to the Spanish capital, Madrid, with two weekly services, while the number of weekly flights to Barcelona will increase from four to seven.
Furthermore, in adherence to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s directives issued during his visit to Tindouf, a new route has been launched to the southern part of the country. Starting from the 17th of this month, a weekly flight from Algiers to Tindouf, Adrar, and back will be operational.
The ministry assures that the number of flights will gradually increase in the coming weeks, aligning with the commitment to expand air connectivity as per the president’s directives. This strategic move not only strengthens international links but also enhances domestic air travel options, promoting accessibility and connectivity across various regions.
