Algiers, Algeria | September 23rd, 2024 — In a statement released on Monday, Air Algérie announced that one of its flights bound for Istanbul had to return to Algiers International Airport due to a technical issue encountered shortly after takeoff. The flight, designated AH 3018, departed from Houari Boumediene Airport at 11:02 PM on September 22, 2024.
The decision to turn back was made by the flight commander after one hour in the air, prioritizing the safety of passengers and crew. Air Algérie reassured the public and its valued customers that all necessary measures were taken to ensure the well-being of those on board.
Upon returning to the airport, passengers were promptly assisted by Air Algérie, which provided accommodations and support while arrangements were made for a new flight. The airline has scheduled an alternative flight for the same evening, September 23, 2024, at 10:10 PM, to transport them to Istanbul.
Air Algérie’s maintenance team is actively working to identify the cause of the technical problem and rectify it to ensure the aircraft is back in service as soon as possible.
