Algiers, Algeria | June 8th, 2024 —In a significant step towards improving regional connectivity, Air Algérie has inaugurated a new flight route between El Meniaâ and Constantine, as reported by the Algerian Press Service (APS) citing the wilaya’s services.
The inaugural flight, serviced by the national airline’s fleet, is expected to invigorate passenger movement between the two wilayas. This new route aims to bolster internal tourism in Algeria and facilitate the travel conditions for workers and investors, according to Benmalek Mokhtar, the wali of El Meniaâ, who was present at the inauguration.
“This new route represents a concerted effort with public authorities to enhance transportation infrastructure and ease travel conditions,” Mokhtar stated. He also hinted at future expansions, noting, “Efforts are underway to program and launch another new airline route linking El Meniaâ with Oran.”
Hocine Bouchama, the director of Transport for the wilaya, explained to APS that this inaugural flight is part of a series of additional flights scheduled nationwide. These efforts are aimed at improving accessibility to the southern regions of the country, providing a fresh impetus to passenger movement between El Meniaâ and Constantine.
Passengers who were interviewed by APS expressed their satisfaction with the new route, highlighting the comfort and improved travel conditions it offers. They appreciated the convenience of avoiding long road journeys, which enhances the overall travel experience.
This development marks an important milestone in Algeria’s ongoing efforts to enhance its transportation network, promote regional integration, and support the growth of internal tourism and economic activities.
