Air Algérie Issues Urgent Notice for Travelers to Saudi Arabia: Mandatory Meningococcal Vaccine Requirement

Algiers, Algeria | January 20th, 2025 — In light of new health regulations issued by the Saudi Arabian authorities, Air Algérie has released a critical advisory to all passengers planning to travel to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, Umrah, or tourism. As of February 10, travelers to Saudi Arabia will be required to present proof of vaccination against meningococcal disease with the quadrivalent vaccine as part of the entry requirements.

The advisory, issued by Air Algérie, emphasized the importance of receiving the quadrivalent meningococcal vaccine at least 10 days prior to departure. The health authorities in Saudi Arabia mandate that passengers submit a certificate confirming vaccination, which must carry an official circular stamp from their country’s health authority.

Air Algérie has urged its passengers to ensure compliance with these new regulations well in advance of their travel dates to avoid any disruptions. Travelers who fail to provide the necessary vaccination certificate will not be permitted entry into Saudi Arabia.
