Air Algérie Takes Part in the 1st Sustainable Economy Forum, Demonstrating Commitment to Environmental Protection

ALGIERS- The inaugural Sustainable Economy Forum, a gathering of influential economic and political leaders dedicated to sustainable development, commenced on Monday in Algiers. Over the course of two days, the Algiers International Conference Center will serve as the venue for this significant event.
Air Algérie, the national airline, is actively participating in the forum, reaffirming its role and deep concern for environmental protection. The airline’s involvement in this pioneering event is not coincidental; rather, it reflects its ongoing commitment to assessing progress and addressing future challenges in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across various sectors.
Air Algérie has already embarked on an ambitious program aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of its flights. In line with this objective, the company has appointed a dedicated manager responsible for monitoring the CO2 emission rate of both domestic and international flights. By meticulously evaluating the situation flight by flight, the airline can implement corrective measures to minimize this rate. Furthermore, Air Algérie plans to acquire more environmentally friendly aircraft in the future, equipped with advanced technologies that emit fewer greenhouse gases.
Amine Andaloussi, spokesperson for Air Algérie, elaborated on the airline’s approach, stating, “Our focus is on assessing each flight’s impact and making necessary adjustments to reduce emissions. Our forthcoming aircraft acquisitions will prioritize ecological features, ensuring reduced greenhouse gas emissions.”
It is worth noting that Air Algérie collaborates with leading recycling companies to responsibly manage and process its waste, further exemplifying its commitment to sustainable practices.
