Algiers, Algeria | September 29th, 2024 — A new air route connecting Metz, France, to Oran, Algeria, is set to commence in the spring of 2025. Although the national airline, Air Algérie, has yet to make an official announcement, the Algerian consulate in Metz has confirmed this information in a recent statement.
The new service will operate from March to October 2025, with a potential extension into the winter months depending on demand, according to the consulate’s report. In 2024, the Metz-Oran route was only available during the summer months, running from June to September. The last flight on this route occurred on September 11, with a flight duration of approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.
The introduction of this new line is a positive response from Air Algérie to requests made by the Algerian consulate in Metz, highlighting the growing demand for direct flights between these two cities. In the meantime, travelers can reach Oran via a connection through Algiers, with four weekly flights available between Metz and Algiers, followed by a connecting flight to Oran.
Currently, bookings for the Metz-Oran route are not yet available on the Air Algérie website, but one-way flights from Metz to Algiers are priced at around €300 for late September 2024.
