Aleida Guevara, Daughter of Che Guevara, Urges Arab Unity in Solidarity with Palestine

ALGIERS- In the wake of the heinous war crimes committed by the Zionist occupying forces in Gaza, Aleida Guevara March, the daughter of anti-imperialist icon Che Guevara, has issued a heartfelt plea to the Arab peoples. Urging them to unite in solidarity with the Palestinian people, Guevara’s impassioned message resonates with the spirit of resistance against oppression.
As a devoted physician working in a children’s hospital in Havana, Aleida Guevara has consistently upheld her internationalist duties in support of peoples fighting against imperialism. Having served as a doctor in Angola, Ecuador, and Nicaragua, she stood alongside African nations in their struggle for independence and against apartheid. Her commitment to solidarity extends to the Sahrawi people, expressing support for the Sahrawi cause during a visit to refugee camps near Tindouf in 2009.
In her recent poignant message, Guevara expresses love and respect for the Palestinian people, regretting her inability to be physically present in Gaza during these challenging times. She passionately calls upon the Arab nations to unite in support of the Palestinians, who currently stand at the forefront of the battle for freedom, culture, and life in the region. Acknowledging the courage and sacrifice of the Palestinian people, she notes that they embody the revolutionary motto of the Cuban Revolution: “Homeland or Death!”
Emphasizing that justice alone is insufficient, Guevara asserts the need to build popular strength capable of overcoming the enemy. With unwavering confidence, she believes that the Palestinian people will triumph over the fascist Zionist colonialism. The message serves as a rallying cry for unity, echoing the global call to stand against the injustices faced by the Palestinian population in their struggle for liberation.
