Algiers, Algeria | October 24th, 2024 — Algerian Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, met with Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association and Founder of Aamal Company Q.P.S.C., during his official visit to Qatar on Thursday. The meeting was a pivotal step in strengthening economic cooperation between Algeria and Qatar, focusing on expanding trade and investment opportunities.

According to a statement released by the ministry, discussions centered on enhancing collaboration between business leaders from both nations, particularly in key sectors such as commerce, investment, and large-scale infrastructure projects. Sheikh Faisal expressed the interest of Qatari businessmen in exploring investment opportunities in Algeria’s growing economy, praising Algeria’s ambitious projects that align with its new economic vision.

One of the main points discussed was the importance of investing in large commercial spaces and distribution centers, which are seen as crucial drivers for economic growth. Sheikh Faisal highlighted Qatar’s enthusiasm for these ventures, noting their potential to significantly enhance Algeria’s commercial landscape.

Zitouni emphasized Algeria’s commitment, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to forming strategic partnerships with Qatar. These efforts are expected to positively impact trade relations and boost investments between the two nations. He also stressed that commercial spaces represent a vital sector for creating new jobs and stimulating economic development.

The talks also explored other essential sectors, including industry, agriculture, and renewable energies, which offer promising opportunities for bilateral investment.
