Algeria-Belarus: Exploring Collaboration in Tractor, Bus, Machinery, and Pharmaceutical Industries

ALGIERS- The Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Mr. Ali Aoun, held discussions on Monday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Mr. Sergei Aleinik, to explore avenues of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of industry and pharmaceutical production.
In a meeting marked by mutual interest and cooperation, both parties underscored the necessity of developing areas of collaboration, particularly in the sectors of tractor manufacturing, bus production, and machinery of various kinds. The discussions align with the directives of the President of the Republic, aiming to bolster Algeria’s dynamic industrial sector and orient it towards heavy industries, given Belarus’s significant advancements in this domain.
The Ministry’s statement elaborated on the potential collaboration, highlighting Algeria’s strategic position in Africa, making it an effective and strategic partner for Belarus to venture into manufacturing and exporting to African countries. This sentiment was echoed by Mr. Aleinik, emphasizing the importance of Algeria’s role in facilitating Belarus’s engagement with African markets.
Addressing the pharmaceutical sector, Minister Aoun emphasized the importance of enhanced cooperation, particularly in producing medications for chronic diseases. This aligns with Algeria’s commitment to bolstering its pharmaceutical industry and ensuring access to essential medicines for its citizens.
Looking ahead, both ministers expressed the need for further dialogue and concrete steps to materialize the discussed opportunities. Minister Aoun proposed the formation of a joint commission before the end of May to delve into areas of cooperation and exchange experiences, signaling a proactive approach to advancing bilateral ties.
