Algeria-China Partnership: Official Launch of “Palace of Culture and Entertainment” Project in Baraki

Algiers, Algeria | August 8th, 2024 — Under the leadership of Minister Soraya Mouloudji, the Algerian Ministry of Culture and Arts officially launched the company responsible for constructing the “Palace of Culture and Entertainment” in Baraki. The inauguration ceremony took place on August 8, 2024, and was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Li Jian, as well as Abdelouahab Bertima, Delegate of Baraki.

The project promises to offer a diverse array of facilities designed to enhance both cultural and recreational experiences in the region. Key elements of the complex will include:

• A Large Reading Hall: Serving as a central hub for literature and research.
• Workshops: Designed for a variety of educational and creative activities.
• Multimedia Rooms: Equipped with advanced technological resources for multimedia creation and consumption.
• A Cinema Hall: Intended for film screenings and cultural events.
• An Auditorium: With a seating capacity of 450, ideal for conferences and performances.
• Exhibition Halls: Three dedicated spaces for art and cultural exhibitions.

In addition to the main complex, the project will feature surrounding infrastructure, including:

• Youth Center: Offering programs and activities for young individuals.
• Administrative Offices: Facilitating the management and operation of the cultural facilities.
• Daycare Center: Providing early childhood care services.
• Technical Rooms: For maintenance and technical support.
• Sports Facilities: Including handball and football fields.
• Outdoor Activity Area: For community events and recreational purposes.

The agreement between the Ministry of Culture and the Chinese partner emphasizes the application of modern construction technologies and techniques, focusing on energy efficiency and accessibility for individuals with specific needs. This commitment to integrating cutting-edge solutions reflects a mutual goal of promoting a sustainable and inclusive cultural environment.

The “Palace of Culture and Entertainment” is anticipated to become a central cultural and community hub, further solidifying the strategic partnership between Algeria and China and offering valuable amenities to the local population.
