Algiers, Algeria | November 21st, 2024 —Algeria has expressed its firm support for the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against two senior officials of the Zionist entity, holding them accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in the Gaza Strip.
In an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Algeria emphasized that this landmark decision is a long-overdue step towards ending decades of immunity granted to the Zionist occupiers despite their repeated violations of international law and heinous crimes against the Palestinian people and the broader region.
“This measure, which Algeria has persistently called for through the voice of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, marks a significant and concrete advancement toward justice,” read the statement. The move signifies an essential stride in dismantling the longstanding shield of impunity that has emboldened the Zionist entity in its systematic oppression of Palestinians.
The Algerian government reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, urging the international community—particularly the member states of the ICC—to ensure the enforcement of these warrants. “In pursuit of justice for the Palestinian people and their protection, Algeria calls on all responsible nations to take the necessary actions to implement these arrest warrants and allow international justice to prevail,” the statement continued.
This decisive action by the ICC has resonated globally, as it underscores the growing international demand for accountability in the face of human rights abuses in Palestine. Algeria, a staunch defender of Palestinian self-determination, remains at the forefront of this struggle, advocating for justice and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East El Quds as its capital.
