Algeria Cracks Down on Immoral Content Creators: A National Stand Against Ethical Decay

The nationwide campaign, launched by the National Security services, has resulted in a series of high-profile arrests targeting individuals disseminating unethical content across social media. A Wave of Arrests Targets Promoters of Immorality

Within just a week, multiple individuals involved in producing and distributing inappropriate content have been apprehended. The first to fall under the judicial hammer was an individual known online as “Mister Cook the Shark,” who was arrested by security forces. Authorities seized electronic devices used in his activities, and he has since been presented before the judiciary to answer for his actions.

In Oran, another figure, influencer Barania Akef, was taken into custody by local law enforcement. Her mobile devices were confiscated as evidence, and she was swiftly referred to the judiciary. Meanwhile, the Anti-Cybercrime Unit of the Annaba police arrested two women, identified as Shiraz and her relative Dalia, along with their associates, for their involvement in producing and distributing indecent videos. All suspects have been presented before the Prosecutor General at the Annaba Court, signaling the seriousness with which authorities are treating such offenses.

As news of the crackdown spreads, many so-called “influencers” have begun frantically deleting their morally reprehensible content in an attempt to evade legal consequences. However, Algerian authorities have made it clear that such belated attempts at damage control will not shield violators from accountability. Security and judicial institutions remain steadfast in their mission to cleanse social media of illicit and unethical material that threatens the fabric of Algerian society.

The public has overwhelmingly welcomed the government’s resolute efforts, applauding law enforcement and the judiciary for their vigilance and determination.
