ALGIERS- On May 30, 2023, Mr. Laaziz FAID, the Minister of Finance, welcomed Mrs. Vanessa VEGA SAENZ, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark in Algeria, to the headquarters of his ministerial department. The meeting served as an opportunity to discuss the current state of bilateral economic and financial relations and explore ways to strengthen them.
During the meeting, both parties expressed their satisfaction with the ratification of the bilateral convention for the elimination of double taxation. They emphasized that the Convention’s entry into force would send a strong signal to economic operators in both countries, encouraging them to double their efforts to raise the level of bilateral economic cooperation.
The minister also discussed the reform projects undertaken by Algeria to address the challenges of economic and social development. He highlighted the measures introduced by the public authorities to improve the investment environment and its ecosystem, thereby strengthening its stability, transparency, and guarantees offered to investors, including foreign ones.
The Danish Ambassador expressed the interest of many Danish companies in the Algerian market and its potential, while welcoming the efforts made by the Algerian Government.
Finally, both parties agreed to intensify exchanges and meetings between operators of the two countries to explore areas of common interest and work together to strengthen and diversify bilateral cooperation.
In conclusion, the meeting between the Minister of Finance and the Danish Ambassador was productive, highlighting the commitment of both countries to strengthen their economic and financial relations.
